In the City – 32nd Floor

Aug. 24, 2012

I was witness to a constant hum of life.

No silence could I find but that within,

Yet when I look upon this hectic scene

A peace descended lightly on my soul.

Great towers rose a song towards the sky

And voices in a whirl of tongues I heard,

A throb of life incessantly proclaimed

Its beauty beneath protecting arms of trees

Where flower pockets bloomed on concrete streets

Mid the massed vibrations of uncounted souls.

I saw the architecture of a world

Of vision concretized and growth unchecked

And then I bowed before the Radiance

Aware the life-force, its imaginings

Made real, the spirit in this world infused

And knew again as once in an occult past

The joy of all things manifest and true

On this spinning globe companioned by the stars.

Then rose from me a prayer to the Unseen

For peace in all these people realms I pass

That illuminate my steps upon the Way.
